Loren Jacobson

Partner

Loren Jacobson is a partner at Waters & Kraus, LLP, in the firm's Dallas office. Her practice focuses mainly on qui tam whistleblower cases and appellate matters. In her qui tam cases, Loren represents whistleblowers who have uncovered fraud against the government in the pharmaceutical, medical device, hospice and nursing home, government contracting, and construction industries, among other areas. She has achieved government or state intervention in many of her qui tam cases, and her clients have been part of several of the large Department of Justice settlements against pharmaceutical companies.

As part of her appellate practice, Loren has written briefs that have been submitted to appellate courts around the country, including the supreme courts of Texas, Michigan, and Washington. She has also prepared a petition for certiorari to the U.S. Supreme Court and has argued appeals before state and federal appellate courts in Texas, Maryland, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania.

Loren graduated magna cum laude from Yale University with a bachelor's degree. She has a master of philosophy degree in European literature from Cambridge University, and a Juris Doctorate from Columbia Law School, where she served as an editor of the Columbia Law Review. After graduating from law school, Loren served as a law clerk to the Honorable  Alvin K. Hellerstein of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and the Honorable Wilfred Feinberg of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Loren is licensed to practice in New York and Texas.
